Coronavirus Statement

Dear brothers and sisters

Due to the current situation regarding coronavirus (Covid 19) we have been advised by the Yorkshire Synod of the United Reformed Church to suspend all face to face worship and other activities at, or held on behalf, of St Andrew’s until at least the middle of June 2020.

As a faith community we will of course do everything we can to support each other at this time of worry and uncertainty. Our Elders and pastoral team are doing sterling work to ensure that no one feels cut off or alone. We will strive to care for one another wherever possible without physical contact, via telephone, email or social media. However, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me in the meantime if you have any concerns.

If you would like prayer for yourself, your family or your work situation, or would appreciate a conversation, please don’t hesitate to call Rev Tim Lowe on 0113 2697002, or email loweandbehold@btopenworld.com. Alternatively, you might like to contact your elder.

If you have practical needs concerning room bookings or use of St Andrew’s building please text or call Freya on 07584269535 or email bookings@standrews.cc

Over the coming weeks, we will be circulating resources and details of reflective prayers and worship for you to use at home. Firstly, I’d like to recommend making use of the URC Daily Devotions, which will include some specific items in place of our gathered Sunday worship devotions.urc.org.uk.

Further information can be found on the United Reformed Church website https://urc.org.uk/latest-news/3365-urc-issues-coronavirus-advice-to-its-churches and Yorkshire Synod website https://urcyorkshire.org.uk/

Although we may not be together in our building on Shaftesbury Avenue, we can hold one another in our thoughts and prayers as a dispersed faith community. Together we are St Andrew’s; together we are Roundhay.

Keep safe and keep faith,

Tim Lowe
