Messy Church is for all ages, come along for a fun afternoon of faith, messy craft and great company.
Messy Church takes place on the second Saturday of every month (except for August) from 3.30 to 5.30pm. It is free and all are welcome. The aim of Messy Church is to encourage families to come and hear the Bible stories in a welcoming atmosphere and in a fun way.
Each session starts with families assembling in the Roundhay room where refreshments are available and colouring sheets and play dough are set out for the children. At 3.45 pm, there is a brief introduction to the Bible topic for that day and then everyone moves to the hall for activities. The activities reflect the worship topic for the day and usually consist of a food activity, such as decorating biscuits, and 5 or 6 craft activities. Activities finish around 4.30pm and are followed by a worship session of around 20 minutes. The worship session often includes a song related to that day’s topic. After worship, we share a simple meal.
